gm trans id

Hi all,
This is a standard , it shifts on the side. I am just wondering who made it. I am guessing its a three speed but I've been wrong before. Like I said its a orphan, I'm not sure what it came out of. Thank you,
Rosie

That number is way too long to be a normal GM number. Until around 10 years ago all GM numbers were 7 digits long, with a few shorter. The newer numbers are all 8 digits long.

re: gm trans id, What is this?

How many shifter shafts are there sticking out the side? If there are two, it's a 3-speed. If there are three, it's a 4-speed.

Is the removable part of the main case on the top, side, or bottom?
